यह आकार खास 3 प्रकार के होते है। जिसके अंतर्गत सभी प्रकार के जीव आते है। आमतौर पर जीवों के 3 प्रकार के आकार होते है लम्बाई, चौड़ाई और ऊंचाई जिसके अंतर्गत मिलते जुलते आकार वाले जीव भी आते है केवल एक प्रकार के जीव ऐसे हैं जो इसके अंतर्गत नही आते वह हैं शून्य आकार या अनाकार जीव जिनका चेहरा, सिर, और हाथ-पैर गोल होते हैं। मनुष्य व पशु-पक्षियों में यह आकार निम्न प्रकार के होते हैं।
- लम्बा आकार:- इन आकार वाले जीवों की कमर पतली और गर्दन, टांगे, पर व पूँछ आमतौर पर लम्बी और आंखें छोटी व लम्बी होती है। जैसे चील, चीता, लोमड़ी, बन्दर, घड़ियाल राक्षस मछली (घड़ियाल मछली)आदि।
- चौड़ा आकारः-चौड़े आकार वाले जीवों की गर्दन व टांगे, आमतौर पर दर्मियानी या छोटी होती है लेकिन इनमें कुछ ऐसे भी होते है जिनकी गर्दन व टांगे लम्बी होती है लेकिन लम्बे आकार व उंचे आकार वाले जीवों के जैसी नही होतीँ । चौड़े आकार के अन्तर्गत कई प्रकार के आकार आते है। इनका सबसे अच्छा उदाहरण है कुत्ता । यह सबसे अधिक चौड़े आकारों मेेेें पाया जाता है। इनमें सबसे मुख्य 3 आकार आते हैं चौड़ा आकार, गोल-शून्य आकार और तना हुआ आकार ।
- 1, चौड़ा आकार:- इन आकार वाले जीवों की कमर बड़ी और गर्दन व टांगे छोटी या दरमियानी होती हैं जैसे मुर्गा, राक्षस मछली चौड़े आकार वाली (जो दिखने में मगरमच्छ जैसी होती है) और मगरमच्छ, बाघ, लंगूर, बाज़, उल्लू, कुत्ता, घोड़ा आदि।
- 2,गोल आकार व शून्य आकार:-वह जीव जिनका आकार गोल होता है। जिनका कोई आकार नही होता यह चौड़े आकार का ही एक दूसरा रूप होता है। इनमें कुछ जीव गोल भी होते है और उन्हीं की प्रजाति में कुछ जीव चौड़े आकार के भी होते हैं। गोलाकार जीवों में जैसे चिड़िया, तोता, उल्लू गोलाकार, कुत्ता गोलाकार, भालू, गोरिल्ला आदि।
- 3,तना हुआ पतला चौड़ा आकार- यह आकार बहुत कम और खास प्रकार के जीवो में पाया जाता है। यह आकार चौड़े आकार वाले अपनी ही प्रजाति के जीवों में सबसे अधिक सवश्रेष्ठ होता है। इनकी गर्दन व टांगे लम्बी होती है। जैसे- शिकारी कुत्ता, असील मुर्गा, ज़िराफ आदि।
नोटः-शिकारी जीवों में कुछ खास प्रकार के चौड़े व गोल आकार वाले जीवों की आँखें अपनी ही जाति के लम्बे व ऊंचे आकार वाले जीवों की अपेक्षा बड़ी होती हैँ। जैसे- बाघ, बिल्ली,बाघड़ बिल्ला , बाज, उल्लू, शिकरा आदि। - 3.ऊँचा आकार:- इस आकार वाले जीवों के पर, गर्दन व टांगें लम्बी और कमर व आंखें छोटी होती है। जिनकी गर्दन थोड़ी लटकी हुई होती है। जैसे सिंह (शेर), ऊंट,भेड़िया, मोर, गिद्ध, कोमोडो ड्रैगन, रीछ आदि।
नोटः- गिद्ध दो प्रकार के होते हैं एक शिकारी और दूसरा मृतपोशी उसी प्रकार चीले भी जो कि लम्बे आकार वाला पक्षी है दो ही प्रकार की होती हैँ। एक शिकारी और दूसरा मल खाने वाली। यह धरती के अनुसार है पानी वाले जीवों से अलग।
इसमें हमने विशेष तौर पर शिकारी जीवों पशु पक्षिओं की एक कड़ी प्रस्तुत की है। क्योंकि इसमें सबसे अधिक आकार व प्रकार सामान्यता इन्हीं में पाये जाते है। जो कि मौसम व भूगोल के अनुसार गतिशील स्वभाव से मेल खाते है। लम्बाई,चौड़ाई, और ऊंचाई के अन्तर्गत यह पांचों चरण निम्न है। शाकाहारी को तो हमने थोड़ा सा उदाहरण के अनुसार लिया है।
